About Sydney

Climate

Sydney has a temperate climate ideal for outdoor living. Winters are mild, and summer heat is tempered near the coast by sea breezes.

Sydney is the capital of the state of New South Wales, and is located on the east coast of Australia. It is one of the world’s most beautiful and celebrated harbour cities. From its humble origins as a convict settlement in 1788, Sydney has evolved into an exciting, multicultural and cosmopolitan city offering museums, art galleries, sporting events, shopping, sightseeing and more.

Blessed with golden beaches, a sunny, temperate climate and bountiful parks and gardens, Sydney is home to more than four million people and welcomes over three million international visitors each year.

Living Expenses

Study Abroad estimates that a student requires about A$8,000 – A$9,000 in living costs for one semester. This figure includes typical accommodation costs, food, transport and other daily life expenses. There are also individual course-related costs, such as textbooks and laboratory loading.

The Kensington and Paddington campuses are located near Sydney's prime real estate, and this is reflected in the cost of living.
