UNSW conducts a campus-wide orientation event for all UNSW students every semester. Information about upcoming university orientation events is published online. The university's orientation is not compulsory, but is recommended, for Study Abroad students.
UNSW Study Abroad conducts its own one-day customised orientation event for Study Abroad students, followed by an evening barbecue at the campus bar.
It is compulsory for all Study Abroad students to attend this orientation event.
The event covers what is expected academically of students so that you can become familiar with an academic environment that may be quite different from that of your home institution. It also delivers information about University services and resources, to ensure you get the most of your time living and studying in Sydney.
