UNSW Student Code of Conduct
The UNSW Student Code of Conduct applies to all students of UNSW, which includes all Study Abroad students. The code of conduct is applicable to all activities on UNSW premises, and all external premises where study, fieldwork and research takes place. The full policy document can be downloaded on the left, and also at MyUNSW.

Assessment and grading
Students are expected to attend at least 80% of classes (including lectures, small group tutorials or laboratories). Students may receive a fail grade if their attendance is not satisfactory.

A satisfactory standard must be attained in a number of assessment procedures. Final grades are given on the basis of assigned written work and tests, participation in class or laboratory attendance and final examinations as appropriate. Most, but not all, undergraduate courses involve an examination, usually held at the end of the course. The weight applied to each assessment procedure varies from course to course.

Students are taught and graded in line with standards applicable to their fellow Australian students. The following chart provides an indication of the grades at UNSW and how they might compare to a 4-point GPA system in the USA.

Full details of UNSW's grading system and academic policies are available at MyUNSW, the University's online portal for student administration and services.

Credit transfer
Students are advised to obtain confirmation in writing from their home institution that courses being studied at UNSW can be accredited and are transferable to their current study program.

Students should gather information about their home college’s requirements for course approval, transfer of credit and other academic requirements well in advance of their departure for Sydney.

Transcripts
Official UNSA transcripts are issued automatically by the University after the close of each semester, showing titles of courses taken and the final grades awarded. Official transcript copies are signed by the University’s Registrar and on request may be sent directly to home institutions for transfer credit evaluation.
